If you can answer 'YES' to any of the following, the chances are you could benefit from coaching:

    * Highly motivated but lacking direction or support
    * Need to find your true calling in life
    * Having difficulty setting or reaching your goals
    * Want to change your life, but not sure where to turn
    * Feeling overwhelmed and needing some balance

Just what does 'Life Coaching' mean to me?

The word ‘coaching’ put in it’s simplest form means to transport someone from one place to another. This is exactly what Life Coaching does. It takes you, the individual, from where you are when you first find the courage to make that life-changing telephone call or come through the counselor's door for the very first time, and transports you gently towards the goals you have set for yourself in the future.  Towards the life you truly want to live. This can be a major change you want to make or just a slight adjustment to some part of yourr life which is out of balance.

We all talk to our friends about our wishes and dreams and this can be a great support in times of doubt.  The Life Coach, however, takes this a step further.

Firstly, the Coach has no preconceived notions about your abilities and is therefore non judgemental.  Simply put, there are no assumptions: Everything is based on fact.

Secondly, the Coach will not spend a lot of time on the past, only about discovering those areas where you may have hidden strengths that can be built upon for the future . Also, there may have been certain belief systems you once had in earlier years, which no longer serve any purpose in your adult life.  Therefore these areas may be reviewed where appropriate.

Thirdly, the Coach will be concentrating exclusively on you, the client, and in this way will provide a kind of support distinct from any other. She will reflect back to you with the kind of objective assessment that creates real clarity. You will be encouraged to overcome obstacles and rise to any challenges which you may face, thus spurring you into positive action.

Some sessions may be more productive than others but this is all part of the journey. Things will move along at your pace and at the speed with which you feel most comfortable.

One of the key strengths your coaching sessions will enable you to develop is to turn your dreams into a reality.  This is accomplished by her guiding you through the steps necessary to make these changes.

What the 'Life Coach' will expect from you in return

*     Honesty – The more truthful you can be, the faster the process will move forward. The strength and power of each session will depend largely upon an open and frank conversation and accountability for actions.

*     Commitment – Showing up for sessions on time, keeping notes during sessions and following through on any plans mutually agreed between the two of you.  If an action isn’t followed through, you will both look at what obstacle has prevented this from happening and reassess the goal. (Sometimes a goal will need reassessing after a few sessions as the nearer a client gets to it, the more they realize that this wasn’t really important to them after all or that something else has surfaced which is more important. Don’t worry: this is all part of the process).
